What should a new player practice first?
Learn M1 fire and M2 aim, then add C crouch, Q and E lean, number-key weapon swaps, and P helmetcam. Practice each action alone before combining them. This reduces input mistakes and gives you a reliable base on PC; other supported platforms may present the same actions through different device controls.

Start from the controls that are actually confirmed
Sable Digital's official description confirms the keyboard and mouse inputs used in this routine. It also says the project focuses on compatibility with PC, mobile, Xbox, and PS5. The source does not publish a universal controller layout, sensitivity value, recoil drill, or official training course, so this guide does not invent them.
The routine below is editorial practice advice for the public FFA test. It is designed to help you notice your own input errors. It is not a claim that these steps are developer-prescribed or that they produce a hidden statistical benefit.
| Action | Confirmed keyboard input | Practice goal |
|---|---|---|
| Fire | M1 | Press deliberately without confusing it with aim. |
| Aim | M2 | Enter and leave the sight picture cleanly. |
| Crouch | C | Recognize your lower view and movement state. |
| Lean | Q / E | Match the key to the side of cover. |
| Swap weapon | Number keys | Change selection without looking away from the scene. |
| Helmetcam | P | Recognize when the alternate view is active. |
A ten-minute first-session routine
Use a quiet stretch whenever possible. The goal is clean execution, not a score. If another player interrupts the drill, resume from the step you were practicing instead of rushing through the rest.
- Aim with M2 at several fixed objects, release aim fully, and repeat until the transition feels deliberate.
- Pair M2 with M1 while keeping the target visible. Do not infer damage or accuracy numbers from this exercise.
- Move beside cover, press Q or E according to the exposed side, then return to a neutral position.
- Use C before and after aiming so you can recognize whether you are standing or crouched without staring at the controls.
- Swap with the number keys, confirm the selected item visually, and avoid repeated keys that create confusion.
- Press P once to inspect helmetcam, then press it again as needed to learn the view change in the current build.
Combine actions only after they are reliable
Once each input is familiar, build short combinations. Approach cover, lean toward the open side, aim, return from the lean, and move. Then repeat from the other side. Keep the sequence slow enough that you can identify which action failed.
Weapon swapping deserves its own combination. Move to safety, use the intended number key, confirm the change, and only then aim again. This practice is useful because a mistaken selection is easier to fix before a fight than during one.
- One missed input: repeat that action by itself.
- Lost sight picture: compare normal and Transparent Optics views.
- Wrong lean direction: return to neutral and name the exposed side before pressing Q or E.
- Wrong selection: slow the number-key step and confirm the result on screen.
Train for the live test, not an announced future mode
The developers have described planned Survival, Missions, Quick Play, and Ground War directions, along with co-op PVE, squad AI, story missions, and team PVP. Those plans may eventually require different habits, but they are not a reason to describe an unavailable mode as a training ground today.
For now, judge progress by simple questions: Did you press the intended input? Did you keep the scene readable? Did you return to cover without losing track of your state? Those answers remain useful even as the project changes.
